Agency Purchasing
Purchasing transit fares for your clients can help them on the road to regaining
their independence while providing them with a safe and reliable means of transportation.
Mobility and self-sufficiency lie at the heart of many agencies’ mission statements.
Partnering with public transit can help you achieve your mission.
Laketran is also available to meet with your staff and clients on an individual
or group basis to show them how to access public transit from their home to work
and other destinations. Staff workshops are an effective way to increase your professionals’
understanding of the role public transit can play in meeting your mission. This
staff training is offered free of charge.
New Horizons is an individual/small group training program offered free of charge
to your clients and is funded in part through a New Freedom Grant from the Federal
Transit Administration. Laketran’s training staff is among the most highly trained
in this field in the State of Ohio. Your clients will be taught the basics of using
public transit and the specifics of services to meet their daily needs.

University Programs
Transit benefits are a growing benefit on campuses across the country. Laketran
offers six local in-county routes with service to Lakeland Community College and
Bryant & Stratton College-Eastlake campus. The following benefits are offered at
these campuses:
Laketran’s Commuter Express Routes 10-14 serve downtown Cleveland with connection
points for Cleveland State University, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland
School of Court Reporting, and Bryant & Stratton Cleveland Campus. Students attending
these schools or other schools located in Cleveland, may use the following promotional
fares:
The Commuter Express student fare is only $1.50 each way. Must present Cleveland-based
school student photo ID to use this ticket.
