Medicaid Non Emergency Transportation (NET)

What is Medicaid NET? Ohio Medicaid provides Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) to eligible Medicaid recipients. This is transportation by a Medicaid transportation provider to approved Medicaid medical trips for recipients.

In order to find out if you are eligible for the Medicaid Non Emergency Transportation service you must:

• Contact Lake County Department of Job & Family Services at 440-350-4366. This phone number is an automated phone line that will provide you with details for new applicants applying for the first time and current Medicaid clients needing Medicaid trips approved for various medical appointments.

If you are a current Medicaid client who needs a ride to a Medicaid Medical Appointment:

• Call Job & Family Services at 440-350-4366 and leave a message about your medical appointment. Your message should include your Name, Medicaid case number or SS#, Doctor’s name and address, date and time of your appointment, and phone number you can be reached.
• Call Laketran at 354-6100 or 942-1300
• Make your reservation and inform the Customer Service Representative you are a NET client and you called the automated line for the ride you need.
• Do not expect a call back from Job & Family Services. They will inform Laketran regarding your trip approval.

This service is only available on Laketran’s Dial-a-Ride service.
