Being a Bus Driver

Here at Laketran, we’re not only excited about driving and buses…. we’re excited about how we serve our community. Our ideal candidate is passionate about customer service, reliable, and team-oriented. Driving for Laketran can be great full-time career opportunity or perfect part-time position for someone looking to work just 24 hours a week. We welcome candidates looking to make a career change and no CDL is required to for hire. 

Laketran hires drivers for both Laketran and Geauga Transit.  All applicants can interview at our next hiring event.

Hiring Event – Wednesday, May 15

Laketran aims recruit up to 30 part-time Bus Drivers and full-time Mechanics.  All applicants are guaranteed an interview on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

A valid Ohio driver’s license is required for an interview. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is not required for hire. All applicants must pass a background check, drug-test, ODOT physical and be available for six-week training class that begins Tuesday, June 11.  Applicants must be available to work all hours of operation.

Event Details

• Positions to Hire: up to 30 part-time Bus Drivers (Dial-a-Ride bus) and full-time Mechanics
• Date/Time: Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Location: Lakeland Community College H-Building at 7700 Clocktower Dr. Kirtland, OH 44094
• Suggested Parking: H-Building Central lot – P8 on Campus Map
• Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required to work as a driver. All applicants must pass a background check, drug-test, and ODOT physical.
• Training: Candidates for driving must be available for a six-week training class that begins Tuesday, June 11. Driver training is Tuesday – Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
• Suggestion: Complete an application in advance and bring it with you.
• No CDL required.
