Cleveland Medical Services

General Information

This is a door-to-door, shared ride service to major medical facilities in Cleveland.
You will be picked up at home (or another origin) and dropped off at the hospital or medical facility. Your trip may be combined with others, therefore your pickup and drop off times may vary from your desired or preferred times. The bus may also make other stops while it takes you to your destination.

Who is Eligible?

All Lake County residents can use this service.

Where Can I Go Monday through Friday?

• * Euclid Meridia Hospital/Mednet
• * Euclid Medical Park
• * Hillcrest Hospital
• * University Hospital
• * UHHS Richmond Heights Hospital
• * VA Hospital
• * Other Cuyahoga County facilities on the 2nd Monday and 2nd Thursday of each month.

Once Each Month:

On the second Monday and the second Thursday of each month, you can travel to other medical facilities in Cuyahoga County. This service will take you in the morning and return you in the afternoon. Call us to check if Laketran serves your medical facility. Remember, this operates only once a month (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
There is no Saturday medical service to Cuyahoga County.

When Can I Ride?

Monday through Friday.
Earliest pick up is at 6:30 a.m. - last return from Cleveland is at 4:30 p.m.

What is the Cost?

Lake County residents                     $20.00 each way Lake County residents with a Golden Buckeye Card        $5.00 each way Children 12 years and under          $5.00 each way Fares must be paid in exact amount when boarding.
Golden Buckeye Card or Medicare Card must be shown each time you board to be eligible for discounted fare rate.

What if I am a Veteran?

Trips for veterans going to the Veterans Administration Hospital on East Boulevard are paid for by a partnership between the Lake County Commissioners, Lake County Veterans Commission and Laketran.

Are Reservations Needed?

Yes, you must call and reserve a trip. Space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.

The more flexible you can be about the time you want to go the easier it will be to get the reservation. When you make a medical appointment, remember to tell the medical office you ride Laketran.
